SST Alloys
This is a simple introduction to SST alloys, or stainless steel alloys. Clicking on the active link will lead for further manufacturing, machining and applications for that SST alloy.
SST-303 – Provide good corrosion resistance and responds well to extensive machining.
SST-304 – Easily formed, welded and resistant to corrosion, this is the most commonly used of the SST alloys.
SST-309 – Resistant to high temperatures, resistant to corrosion for applications requiring strength.
SST-316 – The second most popular alloy, this contains molybdenum is more corrosion resistant than SST-304.
SST-409 – Easily formed, with good resistance to corrosion, able to withstand high temperatures.
SST-410 – When heated maintains mechanical properties, good impact strength, scaling and corrosion resistance.
SST-416 – This chromium-steel alloy while not suitable where welding is required, is always magnetic and easily machined.
SST-430 – Excellent resistant to corrosion, a non-hardenable steel alloy easily formed.
