Shelmet's design and investment casting experts were able to provide extensive collaboration that provided a practical solution to our customer's manufacturing problem.
Step-by-step, Shelmet assisted the customer in identifying the problem and then in developing a design recommendation. This also included recommendations of the most appropriate alloy and the tolerances.
Designed to hold the sole of a shoe in place during the manufacturing process, this part was ultimately cast from 6150 spring steel, after it was prototyped and tested. This ended up saving the customer not only time and money, but actually produced a product that was priced more competitively.
