Our customers save when we combine the machining and finishing into a single process

Savings of Time and Material Means Additional Value

An original design consisted of multiple elements requiring numerous processes. Shelmet created a casting design that accomplished all of the customer’s goals in a single process. This resulted in a savings that was reinvested in chrome-plating which further increased the value of the item.
Design Freedom
Virtually any shape or configuration can be investment cast giving the most design freedom of any metal casting method.
Your engineers have total design freedom to construct your part for maximum function when using the Shelmet Investment Casting process.

This biopsy cube design was a challenge due to beveled edges, recessed chambers and segregated areas, as well as a circular pattern cast into one end. It was made even more so by the using an unforgiving metal, 410 stainless steel.
